In short

To transcribe a Teams meeting, download the recording (an MP4) from OneDrive or SharePoint and upload it to TranscribTxt. The first 30 minutes are free, the whole file up to 3 h is US$2, and 99 languages are supported. No bot joins your meeting, and you do not need to change any Teams admin settings.

We delete your file once it’s transcribed (within 24 h for a preview). No sign-up needed.

How to get your Teams recording file

  1. 1

After the meeting, Teams posts the recording in the meeting chat (or in the channel for a channel meeting). Open the chat and look for the recording message or the Files tab.

  2. 2

Where it lives: a channel meeting is saved in the channel's SharePoint site, in Documents/Recordings. Any other meeting is saved in the organizer's OneDrive, in the Recordings folder. A 1:1 or group call is saved to the OneDrive of the person who pressed Record.

  3. 3

Open the file in OneDrive or SharePoint and choose Download (MP4). If Download is missing, you probably have view-only access: ask the organizer to share the recording with you with download permission.

  4. 4

Upload the MP4 in the box above. Your first file needs no sign-up.

Your IT admin may set an expiry date for recordings, so check how long yours will stay there.

What you get

Full text transcript

Copy it, or download TXT or SRT (SRT adds timestamps).

99 languages

The language is detected automatically, so non-English meetings work too.

Files up to 2 GB

First 30 minutes free; the whole file (up to 3 h) US$2.

Deleted after processing

Your file is deleted from our storage after processing, and we don't store transcripts. If you take the free 30-minute preview of a longer file, we keep that upload for up to 24 hours so you can finish it without uploading again.

TranscribTxt: upload a Teams recording (MP4), first 30 min free, US$2 per file up to 3 h, 99 languages, no bot joins your meeting, files deleted after processing.

TranscribTxt does not label who is speaking; the transcript is one continuous text, and SRT adds timestamps.

Teams' own transcript or an upload?

Teams has its own transcript when someone turned transcription on during the meeting. Ours is useful when nobody did, when you only have the recording file, when the meeting is not in English, when you need SRT, or when you cannot change admin settings. If the built-in transcript already exists and works for you, it may be all you need.

Yes: get the transcript first, then write the minutes from it. Our guide shows how. We do not generate minutes or summaries ourselves.
