Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

TranscribTxt ("we", "our", "the service") is an AI transcription service available at transcribtxt.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

2. Data we collect

Account data. When you sign up, we store your name, email address, and a hashed password (or OAuth provider ID if you use Google/GitHub sign-in).

Usage data. We track how many files you have transcribed and the total duration this month, so we can enforce plan limits. This resets at the start of each calendar month.

Transcripts. The text output of your transcriptions is stored in your account so you can retrieve it later. You can delete any transcript from your dashboard at any time.

Audio and video files. Uploaded files are passed to our transcription provider (ElevenLabs) and deleted from our servers immediately after the transcript is returned. We do not retain your audio or video.

3. How we use your data

• To provide transcription and export the results to you
• To enforce free and paid plan limits
• To process payments via Stripe (we never see your card number)
• To send transactional emails (limit reached, subscription confirmation)
• To improve the service through anonymous, aggregated analytics

4. Third-party services

ElevenLabs — processes your audio for transcription. Files are sent over encrypted HTTPS and deleted after processing per their data handling policy.

Stripe — handles payment processing. We do not store card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.

Google Analytics — we use GA4 for anonymous usage analytics (page views, feature usage). No personally identifiable information is sent.

5. Data retention

Your account data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data including stored transcripts is removed within 30 days. Usage records (monthly minutes and file count) are removed at the same time.

6. Your rights

You may request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing support@transcribtxt.com.

7. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to third parties.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
